The Kitchen 02:18
from the kitchen where you first said it out loud down to the basement where we did those things we still don't talk about i know i'm never getting back into that house but i still get the feeling it could be possible whenever i end up in our home town i'm having the dream again, the one where no one is sincere but it's helping me sleep and then- whatever gets me through this year
2.
Neighbors 03:11
all the sad ones are dying and the bright ones are lighting up and my neighbors are crying and their sorrow will fill my cup and i know that there's nothing wrong with me we've been at it for so long sometimes i'm paralyzed by all the mistakes i've made it gets softer and softer but, my god, it just takes so much time to break the patterns i'm holding and i know that there's nothing wrong with that we've been at it for so long
3.
Shoes Wet 02:59
o misty mountainside! here the sunlight blinds our eyes reflected back, off the dewdrops on our hike here lie the ancient tires stacked high in rolling piles plucked from yonder rusted husks o old computer screen, resting cold among the leaves burned out error message reads: six more miles to the top so we make haste, we get our shoes wet on the trail of corporate waste

Collingswood in wintertime here come the snowplows in a line and all the salt they leave behind to melt the ice will melt the ice you're asking "when'd it get so dark?" we're drinking whisky in Knight Park we pass it back and forth with frozen fingers snuff our cigarettes and then your left hand grabs my right and under incandescent light we move in closer and make out, a little while now you're leaning into me i feel your warmth upon my cheek feel the cold creep up my feet, the fire inside Collingswood in wintertime here come the snowplows in a line and all the salt they leave behind to melt the ice will melt the ice and though i wouldn't change a thing i'm looking forward to this spring and all the good that it will bring for you and me

Honeypot 02:35
she's got her fingers in the honeypot "worry not," she says, "i don't need anything!" they're all out dancing in the summer spot where the night stays hot straight into the next sunny day and i'm worrying tonight could be the beginning of the end but we'll wait and see, things are moving and i'm running up a tree eventually, we'll need a slingshot to throw a rock between you and me when the summer leaves turn and fall to the ground it's getting harder and harder to keep

sometimes i feel so good i don't think twice when telling those i love l love them. sometimes life is so good, i like going to work. i like the long walk home. i like my voice's tone. sometimes life is so sweet don't wanna go to sleep. rather stay awake watching tv, getting baked. send a few texts. maybe call my ex and taste the knife. nothing's alright.

Big Fire 05:43
i fell - down the mountain tumbled over rocks - the river broke my fall and we ran - around the fire chasing hurried thoughts - singing our old songs and we lied - we lived the lie for a while now it's done - i can't be everyone you want now you're alone - pick up the phone and call the band and we'll pick it up - try to hold it in our hands and if it slips through our fingers - then we'll pick it up again no love lost - no going back again the busted string, the old guitar, the broken things - the big fire throw the stone, the windowpane, the kitchen sink - the big fire find the loose end, cut it off, light the faces in the dark big fire, big fire, big fire tired voices sign the songs we've been singing since we were young we wash our faces, and we brush our teeth we feel a little lonely then we fall asleep we're all getting older, time is dragging on nothing really changes, pass the buck and move along

Dog Years 03:12
i still remember the first time we met his name was Reagan, and he was my friend i was eleven and he was fourteen he bounded in circles when i picked up his leash he'd grab it with his teeth, and drag me along like he couldn't wait to see what's up the next block
